Noventi was founded in 2002 by Giacomo Marini to
manage early-stage technology venture capital investment funds.
We started by managing CIR Ventures, our first family of funds, sponsored by CIR Group, a European publicly traded conglomerate and part of the De Benedetti Group.
Our team has a core component originating from Logitech, the leading computer peripherals company. Giacomo Marini and Pierluigi Zappacosta are two of the Logitech co-founders and Masa Ishii was an early board member and long-time advisor. James Horn joined Noventi after venture experience at Intel Capital and RSA Ventures.
We invest in early stage emerging technology companies. We have made investments in emerging areas such as advanced wireless applications, video over IP and enterprise software and security.
We are now targeting the green technologies area. We see this as a large application domain with an expanding pool of innovative technology entrepreneurs applying their product and business skills to this exciting growth sector.
Noventi Name and Logo
In 2006 we changed our name to Noventi. The name carries both "novus," denoting innovation, the fundamental ingredient of a technology startup, and "venture," an undertaking that is dangerous, daring, or of an uncertain outcome; a business enterprise involving risk in expectation of gain.
We believe our logo suggests an energetic and dynamic mindset, while at the same time promoting wise and confident decisions; yet not afraid to take risks and to be different.
The logo was designed by Timothy Wilkinson, the designer of the 1988 Logitech logo that set a provocative new direction for branding in the computer industry.
